I have organised a trip to visit the former Underground Rover Factory. later Cold War Bunker for wednesday 20th February. Unfortunately the organisers can only offer wednesday evenings.

Would anyone be interested in a visit later in the year - unfortunately the owners do not allow photography (IA recordings have produced a superb DVD and there is also a book so not all is lost) There is also an admission charge of £7.00 or £4.50 kids (most goes to the owners and the rest to pay for the diesel to run the two big generators)

This place was mined into Sandstone in 1940 and has several miles of passage. There are the old canteen facilities, clocks, office etc from the war and then later the newer decontamination, communication and bunkhuse accommodation.

'Tis a good trip but bear in mind no cameras allowed (unless things have changed recently). Dont let that put you off though!.
