Hello! I'm new and about to head off on a camping touring trip around Wales. I love caverns and mines, but don't have a rope skills. Just wondered what 'easy' mines you would recommend with plenty of interest above ground and / or simple, relatively safe, single level underground areas to explore? Thank you! ::)

Actually, I'd be quite interested in Mid Wales options having only done Cwmystwyth and Ystymtuen - and Nantywyn if that counts as Mid.

Frongoch is possibly the biggest explore in the area, there is also the Henfwlch and Temple Mines. None of these requires SRT or wet gear.

Talybont is mild SRT.

There are lost of other smaller mines in the area, all on this website.

Hi Ian

I have about a fortnight (lucky me) mainly south and mid, but could be tempted north!

Thanks in anticipation..

Thanks Roy, that's very kind

When you say there are lots on the website, is there a particular way to search for mines not needing ropes (don't mind getting wet, so much)?

Thanks again

Daniel

Nope, search facility isn't *that* detailed! Also certain considerations of how much access details are sensible to be featuring on such a powerful and nationally encompassing tool...
Over-ground, underground, wombling free...
