Hi

Rob here - the aerial photographer who shot Pary's Mountain with my drone.

Can anyone help me? Tonight on Countryfile they shot a sequence from what they described as the largest clay quarry in the world. They said it was in Cornwall - but didn't give the name. Ring any bells?

Ideally, for my next shot I'd like a large clay quarry ideally with a bright blue quarry lake. Any suggestions anyone?

TIA,

Rob

Don't know the name but it would be just northwest of St Austell I reckon
I think we're where I thought we were

The footage showed Littlejohns and Blackpool pit. Both close to St.austell.

Blackpool is partially flooded so would be the bright blue lake.

Littlejohns (now part of the Karslake pit complex as merged with other pits) is a working pit and so you wouldn't be able to get too close.

Head to Carthew B3274 from Stenalees roundabout and then up the road by the pub (Sawles arms) this will take you to the public roads around littleJohns / Karslake.

Simon Jones has some images on his website of Littlejohns

Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

Wrote to Imerys Minerals and they've given permission for an aerial photo-shoot at Littlejohns. Will conduct this over the coming weeks and will post the results here. Many thanks, all.

Regards,

Rob
