Just to let readers know that the old Lambton Baths and whats left of the fan house is up for demolition, For more Housing by Persimmon Homes, I live quite close to the site and we received letters about the proposals, Bit of a shame really but that's progress as they say.

Not the prettiest mining relic but still a shame, as its not hurting anyone.

We're up that way on Wednesday, might swing by and get a couple of pics.

Not sure how long the old baths have been vacant, the firm that used the building used to make the foam for car seats, the site appears to have been abandoned for some time and really surprised the hooligans haven't trashed or set fire to the place.
There is a utube video here

Kind of you to offer, however our itinerary took us far to the east of Lambton at the intended hour.

Fish & chips & blown sideways at Whitley Bay, it was!
