Hi everyone. I'm new here! I found you whilst researching my family history. I know the Seymour mine closed in 1918 but was hoping someone might be able to help me with some info. My daughter's paternal great-grandmother was born in the miners cottages that were built along with the mine as her father was a miner there. Sadly her great grandmother died in 1987 and my (ex)mother in law died 19 years ago, just before my daughter was born. My ex-husband doesn't really know anything about his family history so can't help either. I'm researching his side of the family tree for my daughter and would like some images or any info on what life would have been like at the mine so I can write it all down for her and future generations. We don't have any miners on my side of the family they were all either general labourers or fishermen/dock workers so I don't know anything much about miners lives apart from it was a hard life - like most others at the time if you didn't have money!... 😞 Many thanks to anyone who has any info! 🙂

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
