Hi

Well - down the twyll and facing the quarry take the right hand side and half way down turn left - through the squeeze and bingo.
Just a long slog up a manway...

Enjoy

Hmm, I know the place and that confused me Corin.. 😞

In to Rhosydd via the No.9 adit and up the incline towards the Twll. Exit the incline to the right once you have climbed as far as you can and get stopped by a collapse. The passage from the incline opens into a loose spoil tip. Climb the tip to reach the next obvious level. Looking up towards the Twll and the light, head off right along this level. You will negotiate the long timber beams of an old bridge and pass through a few chambers. After not too long you meet a drop at the end of a passage.

Back up into the previous chamber. You need to climb up the tip and cross into the next chamber and drop back down again to regain the continuation passage. You will find it a bit of a squeeze over some big blocks to get into the continuation passage.

Continue along this level and you will find yourself at the foot of the big incline. Climb up the incline and be amazed. 😉

Alternatively, drop down from the top of the furthest away chamber from the main incline in the twll - it's in the far corner and the roof has been quarried away a lot less than the others so it's a considerably larger chamber.

It sort-of splits as you go downwards and you're aiming for the lowest part of the left hand side.

The tram level runs along the absolute bottom of the chamber (part covered by falls in most of the chambers) and if you follow this, it will bring you to the bottom of the incline.

This version basically avoids a squeeze but more of the route is in the open air.

Incidentally, if you're going into / out of the twll, there's only really one place to do it, opposite the second chamber from the main incline, give or take. It's a bit scrambly, but a lot better than everywhere else!

Hello again darkness, my old friend...
