Hi, I need a new burner tip/nozzle for my Minex lamp. Tried emailing a few companies, looked on eBay etc, but cannot source one.
Any help or pointers in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

Chuck a photo up! not familiar with that carbide light, but if you compare it with Premier and the other ones perhaps the nozzles will be similar

If it's one of the 'Premier' size lamps I would suspect it will have a similar single ceramic jet?

You may be able to taper ream the Minex threads to take a Premier type jet, failing that, turn off the front part of the Minex jet and silver solder a turned down Premier jet.

Do you know anyone with a small lathe?

Edit: Premier 7 litre jet, search under Premier.

Thanks for your reply.
Is your edit implying that the premier 7 litre jet will fit? Unfortunately I'm not able to work on the jet myself and don't know anyone with a lathe.
Cheers again.

I'm not sure if the tapered Premier jet would just push in with some sort of sealant.

If you could accurately measure the outside diameter of the the thread on your jet I could compare that figure with the outside diameter of a Premier jet and advise further.

If possible measure the diameter of your thread with a vernier caliper or micrometer, failing that a steel tape.

Ok, thanks again. I think I can put my hands on a vernier caliper. I'll get it measured accurately and report back.

OK, the Premier jet is a taper fitting, the small end of the taper being 5.1mm and the large end 5.85mm, (near enough) so may be able to make it fit.
If possible also measure the inside diameter of the thread in the lamp

Have you tried vintage car parts suppliers? e.g;
