I recently received a sample pack from Seoul's distributor of a pair of Seoul P7 LEDs. For those who don't know these are 10W LED's with an output of 900lm.

Played around with them last night (do I need to get out more?) and bloody hell they are bright. I think it's good bye to my two 55W halogen lamps that I use for photography.

I did some light meter tests and the LED's topped the halogens by a few Lux.

Hi Mike
Anyone in the UK yet stocking the p7s or the Cree Q5s that you know about?
My avatar is a poor likeness.

I've been sticking with the Seoul ones and don't look too much at the Cree's. But as far as I know Forge Europa is a distributor for Cree. However your best bet may well be Farnell or RS for them, more expensive, but you will not be subject to MOQ's and large delivery fees. But make sure you check that thye have the latest versions on output power.

The P7's, not sure who has stock yet, I got the impression they are a bit like hens teeth at the moment. Some European
LED internet suppliers may have them, for ease of mounting I recommend that you get ones mounted on a heatsink PCB.

I am planning on designing a little driver PSU for the P7 that lets you vary the current, and if there are any takers on it then a small production run, for all you DIY light experimenters????
