Interesting reading, I have drawn their attention to the open shaft on site which is well concealed by undergrowth.

Pre-empting questions re the location of the open shaft, the photo below, a general view, the shaft is bottom right and the holly tree is growing out of it.

I must admit when reading Wemyss I assumed it was referring to the Caves in East Fife which are a nationally important heritage site
