Such sad news to see a great site with great people and a wealth of information to go.

While my time here was short, it was great.

Thank you AditNow.

Simon, can't believe it - is there no way to keep it up and running - subcriptions to bring some money in or something, so it's not so much a 'in your own free time' task?

This is the No 1 defacto site to go to in all things mining. So gutted when I read your announcement. An awsome resource over the years you have been running it.

This is a real shame, the site is a great resource and contact point for people from the various groups, with other channels politics can sometimes get in the way.

I hope the mine entries with photos, documents, info etc. are going to be archived even if the site does not return in this sort of format.

I think that it is the right time and place to confess that I have never been underground and, in fact, am scared of the dark.

Really sorry to hear the news, there will be a big hole in my researches in future. Many Thanks to Simon and everyone involved in setting up and running AN over the years. I too would be willing to pay a subscription if that would help.

I will happily throw money into the pot, but I'm afraid that it goes a bit further than that.
Simon has made the situation very clear, there is no easy fix that can be bought.

Not posted anything for a few years(much to my eternal shame), but I have been lurking in the shadows and check out the forums every few days.

Such sad news

Thank you Simon for keeping the site going over the years, your contribution to the Mine Exploring community is without measure.

When I first discovered how much fun there was to be had underground 11 years ago, this site was instrumental in fuelling my new found passion.

Simon, you have done a fantastic job and this website really is something special, thank you for all of the effort that you have put in. I don't think there will ever be a community quite like this - the perfect mix of maturity, knowledge and thirst for adventure. I will miss you all!

Really sorry to hear this. It has been a brilliant resource for photos, research etc, not to mention a fantastic community. It also provided an escape for many people during these lockdowns when we can't physically get out and visit these places.
A huge thank you to Simon and everyone involved in running the site and I sincerely hope it's not permanent.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
