Many years ago I started tracing the route of this structure by identifying the aqueducts and shafts. These images really convey the scale of the project as well as the then current techniques. Many thanks.:)

Fantastic set of photos.
It's amazing the stuff that gets thrown away in skips, and the apparent 'ignorance' of those ordering the disposal.
Thank goodness for skip divers 🙂
