Hello,
I was up at Old Gang for the first time this centaury and we had a quick pootle into the level just up the valley from Old Gang.

I used to do a lot around here when I was at school in Richmond but not done anything for 20 years (or more)! Can anyone remind me please of the name of the level - shown in the photo below - and perhaps give me any more info about it.

Next time I'm up I might bring my kit and go for a wonder down Brandy Bottle or Old Moulds - don't think my young children are up to Sir Francis yet! (If there is an active group in the area I can contact that would be great. There used to be one that met in the Middle House in Reeth many years ago...)

many thanks,

Richard

That's Spence Level. It doesn't (currently) go more than a hundred yards or two. I'm not certain that it ever did much more without checking.

There are a few people from the area who post on here. They might be able to add a touch more detail.
