For some weeks there has been a stream flowing down the road in the Via Gellia, left side travelling towards Cromford, location between Grange Mill and the Ible turn. The water appears to be coming from a point on the hillside above the road. Not an easy place to stop and investigate and I have no other details. May be something or nothing. I was talking with a non-mine explorer recently and he mentioned a "drain" which ran the length of the Vial Gellia, which was "something to do with the mills" and which friends of his used to crawl along in wetsuits (some time ago I assume). This could be a re-interpretation of Cromford Sough facts and again could be something or nothing. Both posted here in case someone knows more and in case they are "something".

There was quite a stream flowing down the Clatterway road, going down a drain just by the Pig O lead before the main Via Gellia. Related?

No - this is on the A5012 not far west of the Ible turning, where the hillside drops straight onto the road. Could be a blocked drain but it is well above the stream there and appears to come from higher up the hillside.

It's a spring rising on top of the Ible dolerite that flows down to the road and should disappear into a grate and thence to the brook. However, the grate appears to be blocked at the moment, hence the overflow onto the road

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
