BGS have sometime recently uploaded scans of a huge range of publications from their extensive archives and publications lists ........... many of which will be of massive interest to the mining enthusiasts 🙂

http://www.bgs.ac.uk/opengeoscience/Publications.html

The publications available include the whole range of memoirs including the Economic Geology series and gems such as:

http://www.bgs.ac.uk/data/publications/pubs.cfc?method=viewRecord&publnId=19868259

http://www.bgs.ac.uk/data/publications/pubs.cfc?method=viewRecord&publnId=19867556

http://www.bgs.ac.uk/data/publications/pubs.cfc?method=viewRecord&publnId=19864729

Quite apart from the treasure trove of the memoirs there are the likes of UK mineral statistics, mines and quarries:

Hats off to the BGS

Many thanks for the heads-up!

There's a vast amount of material been placed online: Min. Stats. and successors to present; List of Mines (though 1888-1896 not available); various H.M. Insp. Mines publications (but not divisional reports); Geol. Svy. 1in / 1:50,000 sheet memoirs; Sp.Reps.Min.Res.G.B. memoirs; lots of other Geol. Svy. series and misc pubs; 1in, 1:50,000 and 1:25,000 Geol. Svy. Maps (but not 6in maps).

Wonderful resource!

Many thanks for that

I have originals (naturally :smartass: ) but having them available any time and anywhere is great.
