Anyone know where this is?

John took this on a trip down to the South West some time in the early 80's I think.

Apart from saying " Engine House at Grampound Road " I have no other location info, a quick look at sites in the vicinity on AditNow was not that useful as none seem to have any pics attached, nor was Mindat although they did have photos of a couple sites.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

Grampound Road was a station on the main line, after Truro. It was where you had to change trains to go down to Helston. (about 1957)

Wasn't that Gwinear Road?

Thanks Lozz: you are right of course. Gwinnear Road it was. I last changed trains there 60 years ago, so my memory has played me false.

I know that now, at the time (couple of weeks ago) I was limited to the info on the slide and it took me a while to even work out there was a village called Grampound Road (I'm just a grockle). When I then worked out the nearest named mine was Trevanion and asked AditNow to show all sites within 5km, that shows about 20. As luck would have it the only one I didn't check on was Vertonwyn and all the rest bar one had no photos attached, so being a little lazy I thought it better to ask them wot know, it worked well as Lozz replied in no time at all. Shows just how useful AditNow and it's contributers are.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
