Hey,

Could someone just please fill me in on what's going on at Dan-y-Graig Drift? Last I know it was owned by RICHE GROUP LTD, please correct me if wrong.

Thanks,
tonto

I believe that Dan y Graig No.4 Colliery is owned and operated by Three D's Mining Limited. This company has both UK and Hong Kong directors and so seems to have parallels to Riche Group, earlier owners of this colliery and of Johnson Mine at Blaenafon, which was Hong Kong based.

Dan y Graig No.4 Colliery spent a long while after reopening driving through old workings to reach a new block of coal west of the mine's previous workings. I believe that the mine is free-draining. I believe that the mine has been coaling for around two years and it employs a total of less than ten.

The licensed area is large. If anthracite prices hold up, this mine may have a long productive life as reserves are very large in relation to current output.

Riche Mining bought into Dan y graig No.4 not long before the Johnson was closed,on a 49/51% share basis,i forget which way favour`s Riche,

3 D`s have been there since the 80`s opening both No`s 3 and 4.

Thanks for this information, which is interesting and explains the presence of some Hong Kong directors on the board of Three D's Mining Limited. The licence is currently held by Three D's Mining Limited but possibly they are a subsidiary of Riche? - it all depends on who owns the crucial 2% !

None then.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
