Hello all,

I just got back from my third trip visiting underground Nazi factory sites, hurriedly jammed into existing mines (by slave labour usually) after the allies started using their air superiority to bomb any stack they could see with smoke coming out of it from 1941 onwards.

Fascinating, and absolutely colossal mines with layered history. This last weekend featured one iron mine over five kilometres across with inclined skipways up to 200m long.

So far I have been to the Czech Republic, the Harz mountains and Rhine-Westphalia.

This post is to see if any members know the mines of these or any other regions, can point me to any info resources, or have any local contacts? Happy to share what I have.

John :)

I don't like the look of that woodwork.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
