I'm defiantly up for a trip this week! Apologies for the "no show" last Thursday, I was hoping to make it but had forgotten how much s**t I had accumulated until moving house!

I thought you were planning a move down here?

I will, just not sure when. I have my Gaelic stuff to do up in Scotland first, not many mines in the highlands though! Will finish mi book in October and spend lots of time in Wales then.

I would do Simon but I don't really keep in contact with many of the explorers around here, I haven't seen Colonel Mustard in years not sure how to contact him. Normally go with the Scottish Guys, you guys or the Manchester group and a couple of people from Yorkshire but we're all too busy to do it every week. I wouldn't mind though, there is a lot to do around here, most of which needs to be properly looked at. A lot of the slate mines have potential but have so far not been looked at so it's a single man job usually 🙂

By the way, in terms of thursday night trips, would anyone be interested in checking out a certain mid Welsh slate quarry one day? I still plan to go ahead with a more thorough trip there but as me and Simon were discussing, a look around for a day or evening to get a better feel of the place might be in order first.

cheers

Not me, that's way too far for a Thursday evening. It'd have to be weekend or holiday trip.

Agreed. And it needs a reccee first to save folk travelling a long way for a mine we can't locate or end up finding we haven't got enough kit to rig it.

Bump up!

We did Blober's "New place" last week and most excellent it was too

Next week's trip is posted up, here:

So suggestions? Hafod Uchaf, Bwlch y Plwm are penciled in for September-ish when Pingu is back with us.

We did say that we would go and visit Llion on the 19th, I have checked with the man himself and he is free to hobble to the pub/curry house so I vote for that  We could call it a planning evening although we never get anything planned at these "meetings"....

How about the following week, the 26th, we make the most of the long days by exploring the rest of the Drws y Coed area? I stopped off there last week while I was passing and spotted another shaft and a load of adits/levels that I personally haven't been in. Anyone fancy that?

Catherine & Jane?

Copper mines in the Beddgelert area? Sygun stopes?

Betws Garmon?

That lot should take us up to NAMHO!

More suggestions please!:flowers:
Yma O Hyd....

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
