I have just come across this site
but i dont seem to be able to post a link on your blog
if you already know of this site then thats ok
but i am shocked at the shear amount of equiptment the spanish leave about when they abandon mines
if this link does not post google it and you will find many other mining areas with lots of photos, when you click on a photo move your mouse and you can then click on the next oneand so on any way i hope its of interest to you

then i can already here the travel agents phones ringing !

Not Murcia, but I was on an expedition to the Picos in Asturias 25 years ago, and we explored a disused mine there. As you say, the amount of abandoned equipment was staggering. I remember seeing a perfectly serviceable genny there, and more disturbingly, det wires disappearing into a working face.

The mine was Mina Magdalina, near Robriguero.
