Great bit of film. Some years before my time of course but nevertheless I can still remember the maroons being fired at my then local station at Hoylake. As we only lived a couple of roads away they (maroons) made a heck of a din. A tractor used to pull the lifeboat on a wheeled cradle across the sands to the waters edge. A great sight/event my childhood summers at my Gran's was never complete without seeing this and being shouted at to keep out of the way.
Back to the film, I note to how gingerly the bloke on the release uses the hammer 😮 and where the horses come up the slope the appointed wheel chockers are close at hand.
Imagine doing that today ....... the Elf & Safety Gnomes would be beside themselves
