A while back I posted some info that Ocean Fabrication were looking at taking over the old mill building at the mine.
For a few weeks now there has been considerable activity on the site with some earth moving and drain laying etc.
The large crusher house has been completely cleaned out and prepared for the new company to start operations.
The outer cladding of the building is being repaired and is almost complete. Equipment is being moved in and on Wednesday morning the new overhead beam crane was hiosted into position. With an SWL of 16 tons (imperial) it should answer well to all of Ocean's needs.
Compare the B&W shot of the crusher house taken in 2002 to the colour pics here.
It's good to see the mill buildings being put to use, unlike at Wheal Jane where it was torn down for scrap.
