I never go to Newquay these days but there used to be quite a few. I think the council had a lot of them destroyed years ago for the fear of people entering them from the beach.
All along the north coast from Newquay to past St Just there are isolated pockets to still be seen

The Royal Cornwall Museum (Courtney Library) holds about 5000 mining images that are available at a price. Not unreasonable. One example.

Similarly the Cornwall Studies Library has a good collection.

Then there is the CRO but that's a bit iffy.
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Thanks Carnkie. Actually I just found out that Woodhorn Colliery museum up here in Northumberland holds national archives. I looked at the index and there are lots of interesting mining documents available to look at and I think they allow non-flash photography of them too. Reckon I'll be paying them a visit soon!

A word of caution on those sources, do not upload from them could court trouble

I was thinking that Spitfire, what with copyright issues etc. It would just be for my own use really though ๐Ÿ™‚
