Failand Ochre Working, near Bristol aka Clarken Combe Ochre Mines and Great Ochre Mine Clarken Combe.
NGR ST 5383 7104 A 112 m L 100 m VR 15 m
These working are situated in Ashton Hill in the grounds of Long Ashton Golf Course. An important bat habituation site, closed in 1961 after a golfer went for a **** in the bushes and fell down a 20 m deep shaft and broke his leg.
