I think it's all sold out now, but we've had some trade interest (mining heritage sites) and so a re-print might be possible.

And if anybody can help with spreading the word via PDMHS, NMRS, WMS etc. it would be very much apprecaited. I think there was a mention of it in Descent this edition. I've not seen it but I sent some info to Chris and was told it might appear if there was space.

Suggest you email a paragraph describing the book and its content to the various mining society newsletter editors. They all are pleased to publish notices of new books. As editor / publisher you can outline the book better than anyone!

Could tailor the paragraph with mentiuons of mines relevant to the more regional/local societies, remembering that NMRS and PDMHS are in many respects national rather than regional despite their names.

Could get a satisfied customer to write a few sentences reviewing the book or lift pleased customers' quotes from this forum.

Worth explaininmg that you're seeking a certain minimum number of orders by a certain date to make a second printing viable.

Not trying to teach you how to suck eggs but a bit of marketing will bring this excellent looking book to the attention of a lot of people who were unaware of it - many of my mining contacts seem unaware of aditnow and I only find time to log on occasionally and hence missed the launch of the book.

I can get in touch with the PDMHS newsletter editor, and see if he'll put something into the next one about the book, mentioning that each copy sold includes a donation to DCRO in the price, so a second run would be helping a worthy cause!

EDIT - I'll also ask the keepers of the PDMHS website when they get back off holiday if they'd mind publicising it there.

From memory a couple of people were interested in copies for various gift shops and visitor centres, but I haven't got a note of who. Was that the case or did I imagine that :lol:

Peter - I suggest we take copies along to the PDMHS agm and the Barmote event to see if we can get any more interest - several people who've seen my copy have said they were interested but whether that's translated into emailing Simon to sign up for the second edition I don't know....

Good idea, the 2 I've ordered above are the direct result of the Open Day. If it helps with the ordering Simon, and it quickens the re-order process I'm prepared to buy another 2. In the hope that they could be sold at the PDHMS AGM/Barmote.
