Hi Folks.
Have just joined this evening. Main reason as i live over the aforementioned mine!!!!. Does anyone anticipate any visits to these in the near future, There are at least 4 shafts that i know of and one main addit which is supposed to have chambers and waterfalls (urban myth?). I know all the land owners if that helps. Who knows i might even get the undergroung bug.

Regards
Jim

Hi Pendelvin, and welcome.
There are a few folks on here that know Cornwall, and probably know a bit about your mine!
Im sure they will have a bit to say at some stage

Well you should be happy to know that if there is any chance of a new mine in Cornwall then Redmoor is high on the list, there would have been one if it wasn't for the 1985 tin price drop.

Hi Jim. I came out to visit the mine last year with a view of exploring it. I spoke with the lady in the office and was shown around by one of the workers there. Would very much like to have a look at the adit level as it's quite extensive according to my information. Would be more than happy to come along with you to explore the adit and perhaps take a look down the shafts, especially the inclined one.

Just checked my records: Adit level 1200 ft. long with a section timbered 300 ft. in. Beautiful malachite (green) staining along walls. Three levels off main drive. 2 short, and the third very rewarding. There used to be a very good ore shute in place.

Hope this has whet your appetite for a visit.

I will give you a ring next week if that's ok.

I went down the incline about 20 years ago, had to fight my way down through masses of barbed wire, etc. It descends to a long series of stopes on what is presumably the lead lode. Some of the workings are dodgy and lumps of wall rock spalled away without much provocation. I was solo and I bottled the trip about 1,000ft in at an area of very nasty looking timbering.
