Has anyone else got photos of good mining statues?

I quite like this one. The coal mines at Varpalota in Hungary are now closed. I believe there was a time when political prisoners worked there.

I'm actually quite well known for my appalling taste but I quite like this. Chisholm's Iron Man Statue was built as a tribute to the iron ore miners of the Mesaba, Cuyuna and Vermilion Iron Ranges of northeastern Minnesota. It is a reminder to travelers of who provided this country with iron ore to win two world wars and help build the United States.

These guys always look as if they had once been models for a Cadburys advertisment.

Personal feelings aside... I hope the information board is somewhat more accurate than this one beneath the Carnon Valley Viaduct.
I wonder who did the proof reading? and I'm sure £100 pounds in the 18th century was a goodly sum..It's not bad now come to think of it đŸ˜‰

56 Grams = A fifth of an ounce! I must get my Kruger Rands re-calibrated.
