I received the following request this morning , the publisher is in a bit of a pickle and need help in completing this recall. The book itself is not affected and I still have copies available and extend the post free period for a short while - Mike
The Tavistock Canal
By
Robert Waterhouse
The content of the CD enclosed in the Tavistock Canal book published in November has been found to infringe the intellectual property rights of the Bedford Estates. It has therefore been necessary to remove the CD from all copies of the book now on sale and in the future.
The Society is also now duty bound to make efforts to recover CDs from the books already sold, and we would be grateful for any assistance you can give in rectifying this unfortunate situation which is entirely the Society’s responsibility. Anything which you can do to identify and recover the offending CDs will be most helpful and the Society will refund any costs incurred in so doing. Discs can be returned to the Society at PO Box 62, Camborne, TR14 7ZN or in any way which is more convenient.
There is nothing on the disc which does not appear in the body of the book; the question of a replacement disc will be considered in due course. The change of book format to A4 at a late stage in production significantly reduced the need for a disc.
The Society deeply regrets the infringement and wishes to apologise to all concerned for any inconvenience caused by our error.
