Hi all.
I know this is a very very long shot but does anyone have a copy of the 4th volume of Jim Riewerts books Lead Mining in Derbyshire, South of the Via Gellia, that they would be willing to sell?

there are downloadable PDF's from the link above 🙂 I don't think the one you're looking for is in volume 4 though, maybe try volume 5 or any of the other volumes, this one contains mines north of the via gellia.

That's the PDMHS Bulletin, not Jim's book. Lead Mining in Derbyshire is a detailed four-volume work covering the history of mining in the orefield, there weren't a great number of copies printed, particularly of the final part. Unfortunately, this means that getting hold of a copy is now difficult to say the least, though there are some in Derbyshire Local Studies libraries.

Realised this when I looked further into the web after writing it... the book is for sale on amazon but there aren't any copies available like you say...

Maybe the mining museum at matlock has a copy?

Yes but not for sale, all sale copies went some time ago so the only one still in the building is the one in the PDMHS library. As mentioned before, Derbyshire County Council have some copies in their Local Studies libraries and I think Sheffield does too

Yep, definitely seen copies of that one in both Wirksworth and Ashbourne libraries.
