This practical course based at Plas Tan y Bwlch has been studying and recording the remains of the North Wales Slate Industry for many years now. We are currently operating at the quarries west of Llanberis where a new hydro-electric pumped storage has recently been approved at Glynrhonwy. As well as measuring and interpreting the remaining structures we will be excavating a smithy site.
Modern gizmos are used by those that have them but good old paper, pencil and tape measure has its place. There is much to keep all skills/inclinations happy. No specific experience is needed; there is plenty of help and knowledge on hand.
So why not join us? Course runs from May 27 (Sunday) to June 3. Either contact the Plas 01766 772 600,
[email protected] or myself (joint tutor)
