I've begun adding some trips for 2015, Rockchick will be posting some more up in due course (hint ;))

Does anybody have any specific requests or ideas for trips?

Please feel to post up ideas/suggestions/requests.

Bump!

Any thoughts, requests or syggestions for trips in 2015?

Anybody willing to volumteer to arrange and lead a trip :flowers: We've had a bit of a lack of trips on the web site in 2014 and it would be great to see some more in 2015. Your admin team will be setting more up over the coming weeks, but the more the merrier.

Now that the cat's out of the bag about me being a member of PUG, Mr Sinker has asked if I can sort something about a trip into the bowels of Parys...

I don't see why not. Usually we meet on Wednesday evenings but with sufficient notice and a good crowd, I don't think there'd be a problem, given enough notice, about choosing a Thursday night or even say a Saturday or Sunday.

Those without BCA insurance would have to cough up temporary membership of PUG to cover insurance - currently £10  - but that covers you for a few weeks so you can make a few return visits...

Will chat at the Christmas bash next week in ByC.

Cheers

Some suggestions as ideas:

Parys mountain

Ystrad or a joint trip of mines in Mid Wales

I have some other ideas, I was just thinking earlier that another photography trip would be great, so I could organise it, because I'd like to contribute somehow, but suggestions would be great, based on what kind of photos people would want to take etc. I was thinking a chilled out trip, with large spaces, probably in good weather 🙂

I would second that. I've only been there the once and neither I nor my companion on that trip had much idea of the layout of the place we didn't get to see as much as there obviously is down there.

If a trip to Parys Mountain is contemplated, then the Mona - Parys through trip should be wet and muddy enough to satisfy those with a penchant for water and mud. It's an excellent trip though and well worth doing.

I would like to do Cabin Shaft to Grand Turk.

SRL's latest batch of prehistoric uploads also reminds me that another trip from Gentlewoman's Shaft to Youds Level is on the cards for later in the year. Details to follow once they've been thought of. The trip there circa 2011ish was one of the best AN trips there was I think. Great fun!

Yup, that was a very good day :)

(and that's the last of my backlog of photos as well!)

I've always wanted to go there, but never got around to it.
So would certainly be up for that one.

Will have a chat with TheBogieman next Thursday evening about a Parys trip 🙂 Rockchick is sorting out dates for Derbyshire and looking into Cabin shaft.

A mid Wales weekend at some point would be excellent. And yes, would be excellent to get back to Ratgoed, and to get a photo trip sorted again. Watch this space...

Certainly. With a small number of exceptions, AN trips have primarily been in Northern England or North Wales. A wider range would be appreciated.

What we really need though is people to offer to lead some. :)

Hopefully where someone leads, so others shall follow!

Try contacting Steve Holding S.M.T. and S.C.M.C.
They may be able to organise something in Shropshire with SRT. Snailbeach to the 40, Huglith or Clive come to mind.

Ask, they can only say no!
Remember if it's dry, you drop into neck deep water!
If its wet you learn to do a changeover under water (a new SRT experience, ask Steve!)
