10 o'clock outside the Black Bull again?

We'll make sure that we're early so we can video your arrival this time... 😉

Although it seems totally the wrong way the M62 is fully open now (I think) west of Leeds so it might be easier heading straight over the M62 and taking the M1 north to Catterick where you'll only have a few miles of country roads.

There are still roadworks ongoing on the M62 west of Leeds. 50 mph limit for a fair way. Some night time closures etc, so best to check for a particular day.

Though worth it to take advantage of the fact that the A1 is now the A1M for pretty much all the way to Catterick. Knocks quite a bit off the drive up to Swaledale and makes it much easier driving.

Excellent planning Chris.....

You might try a certain property in Bedale, plenty of grass, good pubs locally, lamp servicing on site and no problems with arriving there late / dirty / drunk / snoring (?) - rock chick could get a manicure as well.

I've dislocated my shoulder again, so might have to take it easy next weekend  . Still planning to come along though, even if it means just propping up a bar somewhere.

Hokay, found one in Wensleydale just five miles from Devis.

Just a word of caution though, the walk to the pub is a full 200 metres....

We all have to make sacrifices! Sounds good to me.

The owner of the large field opposite the Bridge Inn at Grinton often allows people to camp there - know this from experience although he's difficult to get hold of. Give the pub a ring and the owner should be able to help - 01748 884224.
I go mine exploring as it's easier than doing housework...

Think we're now aiming to camp outside Swaledale due to the 500 competitors and their entourages.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Sorry guys but I'm not going to make this afterall.... other half has the rest of the week off and wants to go fishing so we're headed to Cornwall.
I expect I can find a mine or two down there to amuse myself while he scares the fish......

I did lol
.... but it seems this fishing lark is more complicated than it looks, and not catching trout in rivers requires a whole different set of gear to not catchin pollocks in the sea ......
