A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: Minewaters 2012: Understanding and addressing the environmental impacts?

Date & time: 27/01/2012 at 08:30

Details: UK has a long history of coal and metal mining activity which has left a legacy of contamination to soils, rivers and groundwater. To highlight these impacts the Geological Society, in association with Environment Agency Wales and CIWEM have organised a one day seminar, taking place on Friday 27 January 2012 at Cardiff University.

It will bring together leading academics, regulators and consultants to discuss the latest understanding of the environmental impacts of mine waters and how these can be addressed in the UK and beyond. We are pleased to announce that Chris Mills, Director of Environment Agency Wales will give the keynote address.

Full details are available in the attached event programme.
