A new event has been added to the Events page.
Event name: Mine Shop Excavation and ClearanceDate & time: 03/11/2011 at 10:15Details: Supporting the North Pennines AONB "Living North Pennines" project.
The objective for the day is to clear the mine shop of stone debris from collapsed walls.
To access the site, follow the footpath from the Alston-Middleton road on the north side of Garrigill Burn, which runs eastwards up the valley. The scaffolded mine shop is approximately seven minutes walk from the roadside.
Boots with toe caps are recommended, gloves suggested, warm clothing desirable, safety helmet ( standard or underground) is essential.
