I really need to get my finger out with a few arrangements for this now...

We've got Gentlewomans to Youds lined up for Saturday.

I've had an offer of an SRT trip for the Sunday, it sounds quite demanding. Does that sound OK to everybody?

Accommodation - if we're going to have any chance of getting the bunkhouse I'll need to get that booked ASAP (if it's not already full).

Is there however any preference to camp instead?

P.S. the demanding srt needn't be depending on route of your choice

Majority opinion is for camping.

A few camp sites have been suggested by various people:

http://www.bulliththorn.co.uk/camping/  which is in a field next to a pub / restaurant - location is about 7 miles from Saturday's trip

http://www.lathkilldalecampsite.co.uk/  Rich said this one is close to a pub - location is about 9 miles from Saturday's trip

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/place?hl=en&biw=1097&bih=794&gl=uk&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=bakewell+campsite&fb=1&gl=uk&hq=campsite&hnear=Bakewell,+Derbyshire&cid=13617000403770936868  - no idea about local eatery/drinkery - about 10 miles from Saturday's trip

Any preferences?

Royal oak at Hurdlow may be an option if others are booked.

have a rake/ tool for you to use in G/w to youds it will be v handy at the tight bits
simon has my No. and i live on Masson Hill    easy to arrange eh?

The nearest pub is about a mile away, the Lathkill Hotel at Over Haddon. Beer's good, never eaten there so I can't comment on the food. There's also two small mines within 10 minutes walk of this one if people fancy a gentle evening explore!

http://www.knotlowfarm.co.uk/caravan-and-campsite

They also do B&B and Yurt hire, plus they're right next to the Knotlow mines - you can see the shaft tops from the camping field. For food, you've got a choice of the Bulls Head at Monyash, the Bull i'th' Thorn, and the Duke of York, all within 20 minutes walk. I can attest that the Duke of York does good inexpensive pub meals....

are we REALLY doing this bit??
"On me back, 3 inches(metric!) of air, hat offโ€ฆ go! Oh bollo**s fairly stuck. I wriggled head through chest mostly through. Crap wedging the rest. Pulled stuff from under me back worked suit through. Pulled bits of me then more suit โ€˜ad- infinitumโ€™. Cold, damp taking too damn long. Christ I felt stuck, wriggled.. and I managed 3 inches progress. I knew it was just possible more effort and correct breathing. Took fully 5 min to actually clear and pop through,
I could feel Matt restart his breathing and I must have cleared well. He wriggled into position kicked the tackle bags to me and followed.*******"

  we will all get stuck   I cant wait! Mud, water, getting stuck in mud, tight bits and REALLY tight bits! Love it!

Thanks Simon, you're cool ๐Ÿ™‚
