I'm sad to report that since my last visit about a year ago much of the already ruined site has been further stripped.

The compressed air tank is gone

Most sadly the winding drum has vanished

When i was there late last year someone had moved piles of earth around to create a track to get to where the winder had been lying, the slag off burning it up was clean and not rusty so it had been freshly done, i don't think pikeys or scrapmen would be willing to go to such extremes, it would have had to have been a concerted effort just to get to it, never mind cut it up and then load and remove the bits, methinks perchance some local farmers may have some sort of involvement...........

You could try reporting it to ARCH

The Alliance to Reduce Crime against Heritage (ARCH) is a new voluntary national network which will take forward initiatives to tackle heritage crime and galvanise local action as part of the Heritage Crime Programme.

Ita Police English Heritage and local councils plus others and is now running in England and NI I think also Scotland and should be running in Wales soon

Unless the Cambokeels site is scheduled, which I didn't think was the case, there's little point in reporting it to ARCH as there won't have been a crime committed if the material was removed with the owner's consent. If the metal was removed by anyone other than the site owner, you could report it to the local plods but unless someone's been seen on site and they can be provided with descriptions and vehicle registrations there's not a great deal they can do. Sad but true.....

Its the shower block thats been burnt down and removed too, there were just tiles left. I suspect the other buildings will go the same way if it was worth it for that.

I believe that the site is not "owned' by anyone - I understand that following the collapse of the companies into administration, this site was orphaned. (Not scheduled or listed either).

In theory at least all land is treated as "owned" but as you say this bit seems to be "orphaned". Now why am I thinking Adverse Possession? 😉
