Picked up a leaflet for this and noticed the following.

Wednesday 1 June
ARKENGARTHDALE LEAD MINING WALK
E15 11.00am - 4.00pm Meet at Langthwaite Pay & Display car park (on right if coming from Reeth)
Lead mining and other extractive industries, and their impact on the dale, will be explored during this moderate/strenuous walk of about 5 miles. With some 700 feet of ascent, we gain good views of Arkengarthdale. Walking at a steady pace with regular informative stops, we will finish in ample time for the 5.00pm concert.

Tuesday 7 June - Festival Field Day
THE LAST MINERS - WALK: Lead Mines Into Chert Quarries
E38 2.30pm - 5.00pm Meet at Langthwaite Pay & Display car park (on right if coming from Reeth)
Alan Mills and Stephen Eastmead lead this medium-hard walk.
Adult £6 Under 16 £3

Friday 10 June
LEAD MINING WALK
E48 11.00am - 4.00pm Meet at western side of bridge in centre of Gunnerside
This new lead mining walk will visit the extensive remains of this once large and important mining area. The walk is about 5 miles, with some rough terrain underfoot at times, 800 feet of climbing, and a steep downhill finish on tarmac. We should finish in good time for the 5.00 concert in Arkengarthdale.
Adult £6 Under 16 £3

Doesn't sound like there will be any underground involved there, however I'm probably going to be organising an Aditnow Trip to Swaledale at some point in the summer, although it will be free and neck deep water is very likely if anyone fancies it ?

Old Rake Vein involves crawling in water so you certainly are up to your neck in it!
Friarfold Vein in Bunton level is somewhat similar!
These are the ones I know about and I would hazard a guess there will be others!.

I'd be inclined to sign up when you get a date......

Shame all the walks are during the week, though the Friday one might sit nicely with a stopover.

Yes I had you pencilled in already

Hmmm, it would appear that only the retired and unemployed are allowed to like mines.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
