I have also traced my family tree back to 1765 and all leadminers at Allenheads. The Shaw family. Have been there and even traced where they lived....Kirkhouses...but am now stuck. Anyone got any bright ideas?

You might get somewhere contacting Allendale Estates-

They probably still have the records from the time and they pretty much owned Allenheads and still do own large chunks of it, including the mine buildings in Allenheads
