They seemed a good idea at the time... everybody said it was very hot down there 🙂 It was, but perhaps not hot enough to justify the ridicule for the shorts :lol: :lol:

It was certainly a lot cooler for this visit on my first vist they had problems with the North end (under the sea) and took us into the very hot stuff in the South

Interestingly about 50% of the miners wear the T shirts & shorts, the rest full overalls.

Had a trip down the North side yesterday, temp was reasonable around 34 deg, felt fine with the overalls on. The ventillation was good, I could still feel the incoming air right at the working face.

It was my first visit, thoroughly enjoyed it. Would well recommend it, if you get the chance, book a day off work. :thumbup:
