I know of 2 people (both rail guys) who bought these for specialist night time stuff and have soon tired of carting them around and setting them up etc... It just seemed to them to add another lair to the setting up process, both bought them and both have said just gadgets really that now never come out the camera bag

An eyefi card and cheap tablet would be the best bet

That looks good for viewing the photos already taken but not for viewing the one you're taking?

Thats correct but its good for testing exposure/focus etc on a much larger screen
