All my screwgates have gone walkabout and while looking for some new ones I found these on Bernie's site:

http://www.berniescafe.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_9&products_id=1066

£4 per krab - can't be bad

Had some of those at some point, don't seem to now for some reason. They seem to do the trick. Gate opens & closes. Screws & unscrews.

There's a comprehensive review for you...

I haven't checked my gear yet, but I'm hoping I didn't end up with them. I'll have a look-see in the morning.

Cheers for the link though... my wallet hates you now. I used those on Saturday, no problem with them. Does what it says on the tin.

Ah don't worry, I came home on Saturday with the same number as I set out with. The screwgate attrition has been going on for some months

Ay they look up to the job!!

My wallet hates you too Simon, I've had to retire/fed a few to the "Mine Gods" and need some new carabiners!!

Go outdoors do these individually for about six quid with one of their discount cards, and I've got quite a few. They do the job just fine as far as I'm concerned 😉

the clog crabs are fine - i have several in my own rack - but if i was buying new - and spoending £45 quid - i would bite the bullet - and spend £50 on :

http://www.berniescafe.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_9&products_id=1088

to get 2 of the above offer

just my opinion - but the keylock nose is worth an extra 50 pence given the expected life of a crab -

YMMV

Have a mixture of krabs and to be honest don't really find that the keylock ones are appreciably different, even on rebelay knots with a short bight.

Each to their own I suppose.

Ed might be an idea to put this on our forums and see if a number of folk are interested - I know I could do with a couple more, not eleven though lol!
