I seem to recall reading here on AN the story of some people discovering the body of a man in the depths of a mine who had been dead for many years and who was never identified. When and where was this ? Or have I imagined it and need to await the arrival of men in white coats !

I seem to remember the mine was Buckden Gavel.
Dave Carlisle (Carlyle?) is the man with the story.

Think the guy was nicknamed buckton bill 🙂. His belongings are in a mining museum I believe. Aparently when his clothing was delivered to the museum his feet were still in his shoes!

Thanks for the info - an interesting story. It is comforting to know it was for real and that senility hasn't taken hold yet ! 🙂

A body of a man that went missing was found at Bwlch y Plwm about 25 years ago.
