after a long series of illnesses I got round to photographing 2 digging spades I have spare, I seem to remember there was a topic about them but cant find it. these are 1944 ex army gear good solid metal.....had to be to dig a foxhole. will try and put pictures up if I can, never put pics up before.

could some one tell me how to put pics up please.

hi roy, will put pics up when I find out how to, have put em onmine sites but not on forum,cant seem to find the tab for inserting fotos.

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/photo/Personal-Album-689-Image-008/  then copy (click hold drag and release) one of the lines of text under Display in a Forum Message then paste that into your message. Job done. No need to worry about tags, it does it all for you.

sorry simon I can`t seem to copy and paste it into forum, (think I1m losing the plot) the fotos (2) are in my personal album to have a look at. an old scrote going senile or summat !! :oops:

Good strong trenching tools those are, we use the same type over in the Alderley mines.

Yep, excellent kit. When I was an apprentice I enquired about the strange fitting on the end of the handle, an ex army bloke told me it was a bayonet lug.
45 years later I eventually got one to make the kit complete đŸ™‚

Apparently army engineers used them for detecting 'mines'. :lol:

I already have the larger american screw spade/pick shovel, so really these are of no use to me, although 1944 military collectors may be interested would much prefer the to be used for what they were made for....digging, so Im open to offeres on the one in the wallet.
