Probably too far for people in remote areas but there is a talk on Strontian Lead Mine in Fort William in February.

Thank you for posting that. I am quite interested and have began to research train times and fares. Seemingly I can only book till the end of January right now, but Virgin will do it for £34 each way from London. The sleeper leaves too early for the return journey, so I would need a B&B overnight. I like travelling by train, and have not yet done Crianlarich to Fort William, over Rannoch Moor, so it is severely tempting. I will see how my health is doing nearer the time.
