Does anyone have any information on the history of scout mine And the owner? I know it's been closed a long time and was used in the war as an air raid shelter I think.

I went up there today, and the house that backs on to it seems to have extended their garden into the area of the mine... I didn't really feel comfortable barging into their garden and going down the mine... Anybody else been up there recently? It's possible that I might have been in the wrong place:

Do you mean the hillside that has been made into a garden by the waterfall? I would like to know the history of the mine and seat naze

Just seen the photos, that garden has been a garden for 13yrs at least, the only entry is off the other drive at the opposite side of the hamlet, up the little steps and then off to your left, the entrance is covered with a mound of earth but still open at the top

Ah! My mistake! I was using an OS Grid Ref which put it in the middle of that garden! Thanks! :oops:
