We're rather short on assistants to help on our trips into Rhiwbach and Cwmorthin. I've been given the job of trying to recruit some more.

Assistants don't need technical qualifications but need to be keen underground people and generally friendly and personable and all that.

The way it works with our assistants is that you can generally do as much or as little as you want, days being booked in advanced to suit personal schedules and trip demand.

Can you include in your cover letter a general indication of the sort of days you're looking for, such as "The odd weekend day is fine", or "only Sundays" or "mid-week days". This is non-committal but gives us an idea of what people are generally looking to do.

If you're applied in the past but not heard back please consider doing it again. It's the first time I've been in charge of a recruitment drive and I will look at all the applications.

Obviously you need to be able to drive and be 18+.

It is quite a way. Mind you, several of our trip leaders do come from close to you (and even further) but we try to give them a block of days to make it worth the effort.
