Had a walk up the line from Wellington to Ladysmith today. Saltom shaft is now completely covered by the flowing rock debris (kindly directed that way by Copeland Borough Council) as it makes its way toward the engine house. The northern half of the gin circle and its containing wall are also now buried. Access to the site s still denied, probably in the hope and belief that no-one will see and report on the damage they've allowed/caused.:curse:
