Hi
Looking to do Dinorwic Quarry to visit the best bits on Wed?
Know there are several routes in?
Traverse path from the lake on the right side, or up the incline past the barracks from the vivian quarry car park?
Or half way up on the left side of the quarry theres a walk in?
Any advice on the best routes? Ideally to get to Australia level without doing the ladders? If possible!
Looking to find the best bits for photography!
Thanks
Andy

Park at SH591611 (sorry, too well brought up to use Flash Earth  ). Follow the obvious track bearing south-east for the best part of a mile then head up the big incline, the second you'll have seen.

Follow your nose after that, you can't go far wrong!

You'll have missed some big and very interesting chunks but you'll see as much as you need to see in a day and should have got your bearings.

Thanks!
So keep going past the first big incline and onto the Second big incline in the middle of the quarry!
Have explored up the incline from the vivian car park a few times and round near the row of barracks on the left.
Just looking for good buildings and artifacts to explore and photograph.
Plus see a bit more and explore more on our next trip!
Thanks again

I like to part at that circle where the buses can turn around, half way up, not too far to walk to see the best bits and Australia level isnt to far.
One thing about Dinorwic Quarry is it would be hard to see all the best bits in one day IMO if you are also stoping and taking photos, ive been about 5 times now and still havent seen it all :)

Google 'Snakes and Ladders' a great way to see the quarries if you have some climbing experience or can get someone with experience to take you.

Dinorwic = cracking day out

The full on snakes and ladders route I think is graded at about HVS level - the climb up the chain out of California being the hardest part. But it's quite possible to do parts of the route and miss out others.

But if you're looking at the place from an IA / photography point of view RJV's route description makes good sense.
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
