Hamster and I am planning a trip to Cwmorthin on Sunday 5th October meeting at the cafe at around 10.00am.

I think it will be a general poke around possibly looking in more detail at things which get missed

Anyone what to join us? 🙂

Yep, I'm in!
Café, big breakfast, huff & puff up the hill, lazy wander. Sounds fine.
Actually I'll bring my shovel and finish cleaning the steps down to B off the OVI.

Hello Sinker

One of the bits I had in mind was around chamber 28 beyond the hurdles, discussed this area a couple of months back, but never been there. Also the Z chambers under Cwmorthin. What with so muich to see, have missed this bit for some reason, probably because I always run out of time!

Thought it would be a worth a little look. Nothing ambitious of anything as my SRT is rusty at the moment, having had little time to practice.

Looks like I will have another couple of people as well, who know Cwmorthin.

By the way, What are you doing with the steps? 🙂

The Thursday Nighters had a go at cleaning up the steps a few months back but the job was left around 95% complete due to running out of time  Just a bit of clearing and sweeping required to finish the job. Always seem to pass them on our way somewhere else, never have time to stop!

See you next Sunday!

Won't mind helping out with the steps if there's time and the others want to join in too for a little while.

Those are nice steps down that chamber to the west of the OVI

(I help out with a mine dig and survey in Surrey most weekends)

Doooh! Never thought to ask publicly on here... I'm doing Cwm on Saturday 4th - taking some of my curious work colleagues around with Willy Eckers as main guide. Same time, 10am but at the car park before the gate. Got room for a couple more due to drop-outs if anyone's interested - just a gentle amble around the usual sites of interest (minus 8E of course..!)

Hi Clive

I was going to come along with you and Eckers on the 4th but I have now been "booked in advance" by my owner (Mrs Sinker 😉 ) to carry out some essential maintenance work at the in-laws. Hence I'm not free the Saturday but have Green Light for Sunday. Next time

Sorry to here that Mr Sinker. My owner has let me out on special licence for Saturday only...

Another trip in planning for sometime probably around Christmas / New Year (if not before) as two who dropped out - Immediate Boss and Big Boss still want to come plus my two lads also want to see what all the fuss is about so I'll drop a note on here nearer the time.

Cheers

The Saturday (4th) trip is now fully subscribed! (With some of the well-known FoC, AN and Thursday Nighters joining in...).

Hopefully my work colleagues will be truly awestruck by Cwm's treasures and secrets!

He's right ;)

It's not bad really, I don't mind it.

Now, Wrysgan is fun to get to. I think I managed it in a decent time for someone who smoked around 40 a day at that point.
