We intend to try a new piece of kit on the pipes.
Like everything you do underground the proof is in the results.
I remember taking a battery operated drill underground some 30 years ago, it was hopeless!
Now with the advent of first,24 V then 36V drills it is common place, with excellent results.
The moral of this is, if you do not try then you will learn nothing and so we will see how it gets on with the pipes.

Its more to do with the neodymium motors than the batteries which a bit better in NiCad, and now we have high discharge rate Li Ion coming mainstream.

I am using cells rated to 10 amps for my lamps!
My avatar is a poor likeness.

I have an angle grinder and 2 batteries available.

From experience, the best way to cut rails is by hand. Decent hacksaw blade (not the pound-shop Lucky Chrysanthemum brand) and a dollop of Rocol RTD.

Yes, it's about 20 minutes of your life you'll never get back per rail....from experience! Colin.

I agree with Nick the weather gods must be good!
The pictures of the Nenthead area on Saturday kept us away!

Roy, both of the 'usual', S.D.S. Battery operated drills, i.e. Bosch & Hilti, have 36 Volt Lithium ion packs.

subject to Visa being approved, stamped and not rescinded!

might be helpful to draw up a wish list of tools & equipment?

I can offer basic digging implements, hacksaw, angle grinder. Maybe I can grab some sandbags too.

Robert and I unfortunately will not be in the country on the 31st, but certainly the 17th is a possibility.

OK so the next session in Rampgill will be on the 17th of Jan, weather permitting of course.
In terms of people coming, the more the merrier and the quicker things will get done.

regret now unlikely to make it on Sunday.

My free day is now Saturday - girls are out shopping all day, reducing my net worth somewhat.

I'll probably go do a pole grab from FS 😉 Pete?

This sunday's foray into the Chamber of I Wouldn't Stand There If I Were You has been postponed due to the team being a bit short handed.
We will sort out a date in the nearish future to carry on the good work.
