This sunday's foray into the Chamber of I Wouldn't Stand There If I Were You has been postponed due to the team being a bit short handed.
We will sort out a date in the nearish future to carry on the good work.

The Chamber of I wouldn't stand there if I were you? Take it you have been given the job of writing the next Harry Potter Book??;D

Hi Nick,
Do not know you were blessed with being able to tell the future!
There is absolutely no way Robert and I could have safely got to Nenthead tomorrow.
It had been snowing here since mid day, and is still snowing now.
Hopefully it might be better on your side of the country!
Look forward to the rearranged date.

With a talent for weather divination and popular 'children's' fiction, why do I waste myself in engineering?

Don't look so embarrassed, it's a family trait...

Just adding my two penn'orth - was in there today and there's one medium-sized rock sitting in the far left corner of the sheet as you approach from the NORPEX door.

Thanks for the info, Mutagen.
Just shows that in mines things are always on the move.
I have often felt one of the best things about this site is the way we post new information on it!
No one can be everywhere, and if we all post, new movements, disturbances etc on the site, then at least we aware of what is happening.

Thankfully it also shows that it isn't moving very much at this point at the moment at least.
We need to get back in there at some point. Will need a good sized group to carry in timber and possibly some cement.

Cement is definitely the best long-term solution, but, since Agony = weight x distance, might be best used as an injected grout into the worst bits of the existing arch.

A reasonably fit person can carry 10-12.5kg (ie 1/2 bag) sand or cement, or using a wheelbarrow, 50-60kg over level terrain. Could be barra'd in as far as Norpex Door; probably best to make a stockpile at the end of the barra run then have assistants fetch it up the last stretch to the PoD as it is needed.

Keep us posted if a revisit is intended. There's a yard I use in Darlo for sand and cement who are cheaper than B+Q.

And thanks for your help in the CoH the other week ;D

Working on a folding barrow just for this job.
Need to do some planning, too many digs, not enough time...

No, sorry, agony = 1k + ((weight x distance) / headroom ) where k is a constant defined by the state of knee joint

plus ca change, plus c'est le meme chose
